I first read this book in 1987 and it literally changed my life at that time. Learning to live unselfishly is not just an aspect of being a Christian, it IS the Christian life. When I read this book at that time it prepared my heart to really surrender to the Lord. It is also the central message that Keith Green taught in his teaching on "dying to self" from Last Days ministries, and it is the central thrust of Charles Finney's preaching during the second great awakening of having a heart that expresses "disinterested benevolence",or having true agape love for others that is totally unselfish. What makes this book so good is Chuck's style and way of communicating. He takes the subject and really puts it into practical terms that are easy to understand and put into practice. I love the way Chuck writes and teaches. I was very happy to see the Kindle edition available and I am buying the kindle edition now in the hopes that reading it again will bring me closer to the Lord as it did back in 1987. I can't wait to get started reading it again. I could not recommend a Christian book more then this one. Read it! D-9
