Do You Want to Lose Weight? This book was written for you the type 2 diabetic who wants to lose weight, but can’t manage to juggle all of your medications without having very low blood sugar readings or sugar readings way over the top. You are frustrated and on the verge of tears most of the time and can’t seem to find help anywhere. This book was written for everyone who needs to take off 10 pounds, 100 pounds or several hundred pounds. This book was written for the person who has tried every diet and diet aid that has ever come along. Yes, you have lost weight on these diets, but then you have put it all back on plus more. This book was written for the person whose health is declining and who finds it hard to believe that the cause of it is really their weight even though their doctor has told them over and over to lose weight. This book was written for everyone. It you are not over weight I am happy for you. But be warned, it happens to most of us to some degree, maybe a little or maybe a whole lot more than you could ever have imagined; it certainly did to me. This book was written by a 5’1” tall, 63 year young woman with diabetes using 80 units of insulin per day. This same woman had knees that were in constant pain and feet that would scream every time she walked, even from her chair to the refrigerator. She knew it was only a matter of time before she would need to use a cane in order to walk at all. This woman had high eye pressures and she also had the start of glaucoma. The disease of glaucoma occurs when the pressure in the fluid of the eyes becomes dangerously high pinching the nerves at the back of the eyes. As the blood source to these nerves are pinched or cut off the nerves die. As the nerves die, slowly the person with glaucoma becomes totally blind. This woman had undiagnosed sleep apnea. When she would sleep on her back she would stop breathing. This woman had high cholesterol and also high triglycerides which is a form of fat that the body makes from sugar, alcohol, and excess calories. This type of fat is normally present in the blood. High levels of triglycerides are linked to heart disease. This woman developed high blood pressure and then the nerves in her right leg started to die. This woman was told to take off 50 pounds or she would soon have her foot removed, then her leg and as her physical problems continued to grow and multiply she would die. That was definitely strong incentive to take off weight! Following her dietitian’s orders this woman took off 111 pounds. Following her doctors’ orders, she is no longer using any medication for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides or high eye pressure. The nerves in her eyes were restored to wholeness, there is no more glaucoma! She no longer has symptoms of sleep apnea and is without pain. This woman is ME, Linda. This is my story. Every person is different and I am not about to tell you how YOU should lose weight. I would like to relate my experiences to you and hopefully through them you too can achieve the weight loss and better health you need and desperately want. I too thought this was an impossible task, but I did it. YOU TOO MAY HAVE SUCCESS!! People are always asking me what kind of diet am I on. I am not on any diet. The word diet tends to make people believe that once they have taken off weight they can go back to their normal eating behavior. Normal for them will only put the pounds right back on and then the yo-yo effect kicks into action. I tell people that I am not on any diet. I have made a Complete Lifestyle Change and I plan on never being that former fat person again. Also, I have never lost one ounce; every quarter ounce has been very deliberately chiseled off of my body. I weigh myself every day and if the scale goes up even one half of a pound then I watch very closely how many calories I eat the following day. I refuse to ever be big again. My husband’s name is Jim and the doctors’ names are all real. The stories I will tell you about different people are all true, but I have changed their names to protect their privacy. I give Jesus all the credit and Glory for my healing. God bless you as you work your way to a New You, — Linda
