Rolling Stone reporter Jim Quint is the agreeable devil-may-care hero of this doomsday thriller. A nuclear bomb is set to go off in Manhattan--nothing unusual there--but the events, dialogue, and joie de vivre of the hero are definitely different. An outrageous, fun read that satirizes the genre, but still manages to give you a good story. Those of you who don't take doomsday too seriously will love it.
