This is a beautifuly composed children’s rhyme book that could be appreciated not only by kids. The simple and pure narrative like most of other author’s ideas, came out of a dream, as was claimed in one of the interviews. Keeping to the log rolling, Mr Stapleton dedicated his writing to all the dreamers, who would go through life “with their eyes fixed on the stars, but whose feet firmly planted somewhere between a rock and a hard place”. So, the writer has done a great work in order to have his book designed in a special way for readers. “Did you ever have a dream where white was black, and black was white?” – asks nearly every inch of the book cover citing Kiro Kopulos.
That’s not a secret that EJ Stapleton, a writer, and India Baldwin, an illustrator, are the same person who currently lives and works in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and who contributes a portion of his funds from the sale of every book to support programs dedicated to improving the lives of “calico’ children everywhere.
The story starts with a “Buffalo” clan general description and closely concentrates on the finest bull of all in the nation whose first child happened to be born different in coloring.
So to say, rather extraordinary situation has made whole scenes in the book and “put their ‘food for thought’ on the plate”.
