Overview
Paperback in Very Good condition. Looks new. Clean and crisp.
Fairly comprehensive*, Fully Illustrated Civil War Military History (with some coverage though minimal of the political aspects of the conflict) with a sweeping, readable coverage of the major battles and campaigns. Of course you would have expected Antietam, Shiloh, Gettysburg, but there's the battle of Champion Hill which decided the Vicksburg campaign, Perryville, New Orleans, the Wilderness, Franklin and Nashville and others.
It would have been nice if the book was published in a hardcover edition, and some crucial battles and campaigns like *Pea Ridge and Cedar Creek (the 1864 Shenandoah Valley Campaign), but it is both a better introduction to the Civil War for the novice than most books on the conflict, and the diehard like myself will find it to be a very enjoyable read as well.
