Overview
Bethlehem translated literally from the Hebrew text means "temple of the grain God". In a sense then, it is appropriate that we celebrate the family of God at Bethlehem with a cookbook. But more than that , it is no accident that our Lord chose a meal, the Passover meal, to institute the chief sacrament of the church. For as in the meal of the Lord's Table we celebrate the gifts of God from the earth and the fellowship of love that has been given us. Since 1937 the family of God at Bethlehem, with the dedicated leadership of Pastor J.W. Heikkinen, Pastor Eino Tuori, Pastor Lewell Anderson, has been gathered at the meal of the Lord's supper and also at meals shared by the parish and within the parish. With this cookbook we celebrate the gifts that God has given us and share the recipes of the family celebrating the traditions of the past and anticipating the promise of God's future for His in this practice.
