It is meant to stay in the possession of the child but shared with the foster parents. It will become a helpful resource if there are future placements and eventually be a valuable keepsake. Consider helping the younger ones with filling in the book; and as they grow older, they can answer the prompts themselves and journal their own feelings and activities.
